Changing your IT Support Provider is an important inflection point for your organization. Communication and cooperation is critical between the outgoing and incoming provider. As the customer, you will typically facilitate the introduction. The process for this change varies among providers.
In our case, mPowered IT has 3 specific stages to what we call our Extra Scoop Onboarding Process
Stage One - Includes backstage actions. This includes things like initial setup in our systems and hand off from our Sales Team to Our Service Team.
Stage Two - Includes front stage actions. This is the point where we will install our agents and other services to which you have subscribed. We will typically also perform security tasks during this stage and document the existing environment. Normally, you will be under our support at the conclusion of this stage.
Final Stage - Includes a review of your environment to remedy defects noted or help you plan for future changes. This entire process usually takes about 2 weeks from start to finish
Here are two Extra Scoops for you to remember:
Be sure that there is an overlap of at least two weeks with the outgoing provider and the new provider.
Secondly – remain in good standing with the outgoing provider so you can expect full cooperation.
